Our charming renovated Slovenian farmhouse is in a quiet village location within walking distance of the Soča river, nestled in the foothills of the Julian Alps. Perfectly located for fishing and a variety of watersports.
The house has all the facilities you will need to make your stay a pleasant and comfortable experience, easily sleeping 1-6 people. On the ground floor is a kitchen/dining area with open plan space to the living room with large sofa and digital TV with DVD player and hi-fi. Stone fireplace for toasty winter fires. A downstairs toilet and boiler room for drying out any wet gear, also use of a large 8kg washing machine. On the first floor is a large double bedroom with beautiful country views and old beams, a single bedroom and large bathroom with large shower, spa bath and toilet. Access off this floor onto a large wooden balcony with further outside seating. The third floor consists of another double and single bed with its own en-suite bathroom with shower and a further seating area with TV and games cupboard. A perfect area for the children or friends to stay. From here there are far reaching views of the valley down to Tolmin. Throughout the house there are many character features like exposed wooden beams, a stone fireplace, original wooden floorboards and antique furniture creating a rustic and cosy living space. With a modern kitchen and bathrooms you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Outside is a lovely secure private garden and seating area where you can enjoy eating 'Al Fesco' cooking on the stone built BBQ.
If you continue up the road past the house you will find yourself in the Triglav National Park at the base of mount Krn. Here it is possible to enjoy the wonders of mountain hiking taking in the flora and fauna or just enjoy a cool beer at the Kuhinja Planina Mountain Hut and take in the spectacular views. In North-West Slovenia are the dramatic white limestone mountains, the Julian Alps, so named after the Julian dynasty who ruled on the southern side of the Alps. It is a landscape of soaring peaks, deep valleys & gorges, rivers of crystal clear emerald water, blankets of thick forest, and meadows filled with wild flowers; then in winter a stunning snowy winter wonderland. Towering over the numerous peaks is Triglav the highest mountain in Slovenia at 2,864 metres set within one of Europe’s first national parks; the Triglav National Park which was set up in 1903 to protect this unique area. Whatever the weather or activity that you enjoy, the diversity of the Soca Valleyy allows for a great day out. From big adrenaline sports like white water rafting, paragliding and canyoning to the more sedate fly fishing, hiking, swimming or just sunbathing bythe river there really is something to do to suit any persons ideal of a perfect day out.
Turning off the 102 crossing the bridge into the centre of the village, turn left, then at Bar Form turn right on the road to Krn and Vrsno. 4th house on the left after a left hand bend in the road. Note: all the houses on the left are numbered 42a, 42b, 42c and so on. We are just 42.Parking is right outside.
